Investing in Texas
DFW ranks number nine out of the nation for the most international economic activity. The Dallas Regional Chamber attributes much of this activity with Asian countries such as China using DFW International Airport as a hub for trade-an alternative to the highly congested Western ports. Air cargo into and out of DFW is now an attractive option for foreign companies.
Texas overall is a strong market for foreign trade investment. Over the last five years, Texas has led the country in exports and third in jobs supported by foreign direct investment. While the industrial components of trade measured by factors such as truck and train traffic is strong, the service industry reflects most of Texas's international economic activity, proving that services such as banking, logistics, and tourism are propelling the state's economic growth.
Teresa Rather was introduced to real estate as an eighteen year old receptionist for a large developer in Texas and Colorado. Within a year she was managing and developing over a million square feet of tenant finish-out. The real estate bug bit and the excitement of buying, selling, building, developing and investing became her lifelong career.
Teresa is the CEO of The Real Estate station, George Kolb Real Estate, Inc., and co-owner in Rather-Noble Home Builders and Investors. Teresa's other holdings include co-owner of a large oil and gas Royalty Company, which is involved in drilling and exploration activities in seven states.
She recently designed and completed her 24,000 square foot office building, which now serves as home to one of the largest privately owned brokerage houses in North Texas. Teresa enjoys working with investors from overseas and is currently in the process of creating a real estate investment trust to merge investment dollars with current real estate opportunities in the states.
She sits on the Board of Directors for EDC in the city of Argyle, Texas, where she has been influential in creating infrastructure in this growing city.
Teresa has a passion for life and making a difference in the lives of those around her. She donates many resources and much time in local community charities in the North Texas area. She especially enjoys refurbishing shelters for battered women.
